A fugitive suspect in a knife murder was detained in Dagestan.
In Dagestan, employees of the Criminal Investigation Department (UR) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region detained a 34-year-old murder suspect in Khasavyurt who had fled the scene. This was reported on October 14 in the Telegram channel of the department.
"Thanks to a clear and well—coordinated work, the staff of the Department of Internal Affairs of Dagestan managed to identify and detain a suspect in a particularly serious crime within a few hours, who fled the scene after the crime," the publication says.
A criminal case was opened into the incident under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder") and Part 3 of Article 30, paragraphs "a", "b", "e", "k" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Attempted murder of two or more persons, including including a minor, committed in a generally dangerous manner, in order to conceal another crime").
The murder of a man with a knife and an attack on his family in Khasavyurt was reported earlier that day. After the murder, the man tried to hide what he had done — he attacked the deceased's wife and daughter, stabbing with a stationery knife in the neck and other parts of the body. He then covered the woman and children with clothes and set them on fire. He hoped that these actions would be enough to cause their death.
