10 tons of Swiss cheese detained in Pskov region
More than 10 tons of Swiss hard cheese were detained in the Pskov region. The goods were on their way to St. Petersburg, the press service of the North-Western Interregional Rosselkhoznadzor Administration reports.
The vehicle with the products was stopped at the Burachki international automobile checkpoint. The boxes of packaged cheese were in the cargo hold.
During a joint inspection with the customs authority, the inspectors found that the date of cheese production was missing from the veterinary certificate. There was also no document confirming the origin and safety of the product.
According to the Pskov news feed, the import of finished dairy products into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union is prohibited. In connection with these rules, a cargo return certificate was issued.
