Fico refused to agree to the allocation of 140 billion euros for Ukraine
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has expressed disagreement with the European Union's (EU) plan to allocate 140 billion euros to Ukraine. The politician stated this on November 14 during a meeting with students of a school in the city of Poprad, the recording of which was published on the YouTube video hosting site.
"I will never, ever agree with 140 billion euros for Ukraine," he said.
According to the politician, financial assistance to the Kiev regime can prolong the conflict, as he estimates, for another two years. Fico also rejected Slovakia's participation in any other scheme to finance Ukraine.
On the same day, Fico invited the Slovak students who disrupted his speech in front of high school students to go to war in Ukraine. During the politician's speech, a group of young men in black clothes got up from their seats and defiantly left the hall. The students also unfurled the Ukrainian flag in front of the Slovak Prime Minister. Fico reacted sharply to the action.
On November 10, it was reported that Slovakia opposed the EU's use of Russia's frozen assets to help Ukraine. According to The European Conservative, Fico refused to support this plan, believing that it would not contribute to resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
