The public Taxi Council proposed to differentiate the OSGOP tariffs
Tariffs for compulsory carrier's civil liability insurance (OSGOP) must be differentiated. This was announced on November 14 by Irina Zaripova, Chairman of the Public Council for Taxi Development, Cheln Public Council under the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, at the Auto Insurance 2025 transport and insurance forum in Sochi.
The lack of transparent calculation logic is the main issue of taxi insurance under the OSGOP, she noted.
"The tariff corridor for this type of insurance is 1.3-5.6 thousand rubles. In practice, insurers massively set the tariff at about 3.5 thousand rubles, "because this is the middle." At the same time, this tariff does not take into account either the safety of the fleet or the experience of the carrier. A driver who recently got behind the wheel of an old car and a driver with twenty years of experience on a secure localized model pay the same," Irina Zaripova said.
According to a member of the public council of the Ministry of Transport, it is necessary to differentiate the tariffs of this type of insurance, as well as the introduction of short-term insurance policies. In addition, digitalization of such policies is required, providing for a mechanism for their automatic renewal, as well as the unification of various registries and the emergence of more transparent statistics, Irina Zaripova added.
Earlier, on October 30, the State Duma proposed providing a quota of 25% of the total number of entries in the regional taxi registry for individuals whose cars do not meet localization requirements. It is assumed that the quota allowing self-employed taxi drivers to work on cars that do not meet localization requirements will be valid until January 1, 2033. Taxi drivers will be required to own the car for at least six months.
