In Transbaikalia, 25 million rubles will be allocated for shelters for stray animals

The authorities of the Trans-Baikal Territory will allocate 25.4 million rubles for the construction and expansion of shelters for stray animals. This information was presented at a meeting of the Committee on Agrarian policy of the regional Legislative Assembly.

According to ChitaMedia news agency, these funds were included in the initial budget of 2025.

The budget also provides 210 million rubles for subventions to municipalities for activities related to the treatment of stray animals.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that in Russia they want to create a unified register of breeders engaged in breeding animals for sale. The aim of the initiative is to fully legalize the activities of breeders and reduce the number of aggressive stray animals.
