A bail of about $900,000 was paid for female employees who worked for Timur Mindich, who was close to the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, and was linked to the corruption scandal. This was reported on November 13 by the RBC-Ukraine agency with reference to the press service of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko (listed as a terrorist and extremist on the territory of the Russian Federation) clarified on the Telegram channel that they were talking about Lesa Ustimenko and Lyudmila Zorina. According to the deputy, earlier the court set the bail amount for Ustimenko's release from custody at $595 thousand, for Zorina — $ 285 thousand.
On November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) revealed a money laundering scheme in the energy sector, through which about $100 million passed. On November 11, it became known that seven persons, including Mindich, were charged in the case of corruption in the energy sector. The members of the group received illegal benefits from the contracts of Energoatom and legalized them through a back office in Kiev.
On November 12, a court in Kiev arrested Dmitry Basov, Director of Security at Energoatom, for two months with a $1 million bail. It was clarified that he held the post of executive director for security at Energoatom and, according to investigators, was one of the leaders of the corruption scheme.
On the same day, Zelensky demanded the resignation of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Svetlana Grinchuk. After that, she submitted her resignation. It is specified that the Verkhovna Rada will consider her resignation on November 18. Later, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko announced the dismissal of Justice Minister Herman Galushchenko.
