Where is the icon located

The main and original image of the "Skoroposlushnitsa" is located on the Holy Mount Athos in the Dohiar monastery. The icon is placed in a small passage near the monastery refectory, in the very place where it originally manifested its miraculous effect.

A special feature of the monastic tradition is the daily performance of prayer services in front of the icon: monks turn to the Mother of God with a prayer for urgent help in their needs, illnesses and everyday circumstances. Since Mount Athos, the icon has become known throughout the Orthodox world, and today its lists can be found in many churches in Russia, Greece, Serbia and other countries.

The history of the icon's appearance

According to legend, the miracle happened in the 10th century. Monk Nil, who served at the Dohiar monastery, often passed by the icon with a lighted torch. One day, he heard a voice asking him not to obscure the holy image with smoke. The monk did not attach importance to what he had heard, but soon the voice was repeated, this time with a warning. After that, Neil was struck by blindness.

In humble prayer, he turned to the Mother of God, and after a while his epiphany returned. This event was the first miracle, after which the icon began to be called a "Quick Listener", that is, it quickly responds to prayer requests.

Over time, the list of miracles from the icon has constantly increased: from healing and getting rid of troubles to help in difficult life situations. The monks of Dohiara recorded cases of miraculous help, and the tradition of prayerful support through this image has been preserved to this day.
