The fire danger period is coming to an end in the Khabarovsk Territory. It has already ended in 39 local forest districts. The risk of new fires persists only in the Okhotsk region. This is reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Forestry and Timber Processing.

IA AmurMedia clarifies that only one fire was extinguished in the Lazovsky district last week. It arose due to the transfer of fire from other territories. The fire area reached 3,920 hectares. The ministry assured that there was no danger to residents and economic facilities.

The ministry notes that this year the number and total area of forest fires in the region have significantly decreased. The number of fires decreased by 2.5 times compared to last year, and the area affected by the fire — by 4 times.

This was the result of operational measures and modernization of the technical equipment of the forest fire services. They were held within the framework of the national project "Environmental well-being". Situation monitoring and preventive measures played a role.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 900 forest fires have been eliminated in the Khabarovsk Territory. The fire season in the region started on March 30. A fire protection regime has been in effect in the region since April 17.
