SANA announced a meeting of the heads of the United States and Syria to strengthen relations between the countries

Syrian President Al-Sharaa met with US President Donald Trump at the White House to strengthen Syrian-American relations. This was reported on November 10 by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

"During the talks held today, ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the Syrian Arab Republic and the United States, develop cooperation in various fields and a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest were discussed," the agency noted.

Trump later announced that the negotiations had been successful.

"I have reached an agreement with him. <...> We will do everything possible to make Syria a success," the American leader stressed.

According to the Syrian Foreign Ministry, during negotiations at the White House, the parties agreed to continue implementing the agreement between the Kurds and the Syrian government, which was signed on March 10 and provides for the inclusion of Kurdish fighters in the armed forces of the republic.

"During the consultations, the parties agreed to continue implementing the agreement of March 10, including the integration of the Forces of Democratic Syria into the ranks of the Syrian Arab Army as part of the process of uniting institutions and strengthening national security," the TASS news agency quoted the statement.

It is noted that the talks were attended by Syrian Foreign Minister Asad Hassan al-Shaibani and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
