State Duma deputy Zhurova called the IOC experiment with transgender people unsuccessful

The decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to allow transgender athletes (the international LGBT movement is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation) to participate in the Olympic Games was a strange and unsuccessful experiment. This was announced on November 10 by Olympic champion, State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova.

"The IOC had a strange experiment (with the admission of transgender people to the games. — Ed.). It seems to me that in the pursuit of tolerance, as they believed, the IOC made certain mistakes. According to Zhurova, the change of the IOC leadership influenced the revision of this decision. The MP stressed that the experiment turned out to be unsuccessful both for ordinary athletes and for transgender people themselves, who "are sometimes allowed to participate in the Olympics, sometimes they are not allowed." She also suggested an alternative solution.

"If the IOC had come up with some kind of competition format for them, it would probably have been more humane towards them," Zhurova suggested.

The MP also noted that the Russian side initially expressed surprise at such a policy rather than sarcasm, considering it unacceptable and unacceptable.

On the same day, The Times newspaper reported that the IOC plans to ban the participation of transgender athletes in women's disciplines at the Olympic Games. It is expected that the new IOC policy on this issue will be officially announced during the committee's session, which will be held in Italy during the Olympics.

After the IOC decision, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called for finding out who allowed transgender people to participate in previous competitions.
