Gref expects profit growth and a new record for Sberbank's dividends in 2025
Sberbank forecasts profit growth by the end of 2025 and an increase in dividends compared to 2024. This was announced by German Gref, Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 10.
"We have paid 787 billion in dividends this year. This is a record in the Russian market, so far no company has ever paid so much in its entire history. But we hope that next year we will break our record. We expect to make a profit of about 6% higher this year than last year. Therefore, next year our dividends will be higher," said Gref.
Gref also added that in a difficult macroeconomic situation, Sberbank's portfolios are growing "at a very modest pace."
In particular, he pointed to the expected reduction in mortgage lending volumes this year by 5-7% compared to 2024, and the overall decline in the market could be 10-15%.
"In general, all other portfolios will come out with a plus this year. It's not as much as we expected, but it's not bad for such a difficult year," concluded the head of Sberbank.
Earlier, on October 21, it was reported about an increase in the deposit rate for individuals by 0.5–2.1 percentage points: the maximum rate for citizens will be 16% per annum for three months in Sberbank. As a result, the maximum deposit rate for "new money" or taking into account surcharges for most clients will reach 16% per annum.
