Germany's ruling coalition plans to review its trade policy towards China, including with regard to energy, raw material imports and Chinese investments in critical infrastructure, and will also create a committee of experts that will report to parliament. This was reported on November 8 by the Reuters news agency.
The committee will study the "trade relations between Germany and China" and the security of these relations. Later, the committee will make recommendations to the government, the article says.
It is noted that the committee will consist of scientists, representatives of industry associations and trade unions, as well as members of analytical centers.
"The purpose of the committee is to examine from a legal, economic and political point of view the need for changes in the rules of foreign trade," the coalition said in a statement.
It is specified that the new committee will report to Parliament twice a year.
Earlier, on October 24, the Bild newspaper reported that Berlin had sent a diplomatic note to Beijing over the ban on the supply of Chinese microchips to Europe.
