Western media reported on the number of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The military losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the special military operation zone (SVO) amounted to 1.7 million people. This was reported on November 6 by the American Military Watch Magazine (MWM).

"In August, it was confirmed that military losses exceeded 1.7 million people," the article says.

According to the newspaper, the total number of deserters in Ukraine can reach 400 thousand people. The main reason for this is called "excessively high loss rates among conscript units, which reached 80-90%." At the same time, it is clarified that the "main contribution" to this was made by the practice of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in recruiting conscripts from different settlements and sending them to the front line in just two days of training.

In addition, the shortage of personnel in the Armed Forces remains one of the key problems of the Ukrainian army, despite the announced mobilization measures. The publication points out that the high intensity of the fighting and the lack of trained reserves lead to a constant deterioration of the situation on the front line.

On September 25, the commander of the Akhmat special forces, deputy head of the main military-political directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Apti Alaudinov, also reported that the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amount to 1.7 million soldiers. He stressed that the question of how long the Ukrainian units will be able to remain in service is rhetorical.
