Turkey supports the strengthening of the international mine action group in the Black Sea, including the protection of underwater infrastructure. This statement was made on November 7 by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at a joint press conference with Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Choiu.

"Turkey sees the benefit of strengthening the group in the coming period so that it takes on additional responsibilities, such as protecting critical underwater infrastructure," Fidan said at the event, which was broadcast on the Turkish Foreign Ministry's social media page. Twitter).

The Minister stressed that security in the Black Sea region has acquired special importance after the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine.
