The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation analyzes the practice of physical education lessons with the discipline of digital sports, which are still new to Russian schools. This was announced on November 6 by the head of the department, Sergey Kravtsov, answering a question from Izvestia.

"This is a new lesson for our school. Although the first lesson was held in Kazan this year, and this year I was also in the [United Arab] Emirates. We are analyzing the practice, including the experience of physical education teachers and teachers," the minister said.

Kravtsov stressed that the main task of such a discipline is to make the lesson on digital sports as interesting as possible.

"And so that, indeed, due to these lessons, as many schoolchildren as possible would be slightly distracted from computers and start playing real sports," the head of the department said.

On September 25, the Russian Ministry of Education informed Izvestia that information that appeared in the media about alleged plans to include esports disciplines in the school physical education curriculum was incorrect, and such projects were not being developed. However, the agency, according to instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin, is expanding the list of sports in the school physical education course, including in the form of separate modules. In particular, together with the All-Russian Federation of Digital Sports, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation is preparing a draft of a variable (optional) module of digital sports.
