The lawyer spoke about the possible consequences for the employees of the cinema in Abakan

Pavel Voropaev, a member of the Moscow Bar Association, told what consequences await the staff of the Abakan cinema after burns to the eyes of the audience.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Thursday, November 6, the expert said that within the framework of the criminal case, the investigation will identify specific guilty employees whose actions or omissions led to the incident. Previously, the responsibility lies with the cinema as a legal entity.

He explained that the direct culprit was an employee who turned on a germicidal lamp in the presence of people in the hall — a gross violation of the rules of operation. The cinema management is also responsible for the lack of staff training and the lack of security systems to prevent such mistakes.

According to the expert, serious consequences await the cinema: criminal — up to fines and suspension of activities, administrative — inspections by Rospotrebnadzor and labor inspection, as well as civil — compensation for material and moral damage to victims. In addition, the reputation of the institution will suffer.

Voropayev noted that all those involved will be responsible, and victims can count on compensation for harm. The court will assess both physical suffering and moral distress, especially if children have suffered.

The lawyer advised the victims to keep all medical documents and receipts, participate in investigative actions and file a civil lawsuit in a criminal case — this, according to him, is the most effective way to achieve compensation.
