Ingushetia Court arrests Bank of Russia branch manager

The Magassky District Court has arrested Magomed-Bek Uzhakhov, the manager of the Bank of Russia's branch in the Republic of Ingushetia, who is accused of abuse of office. This was announced on November 6 by the joint press service of the judicial system of the region.

"On 10/28/2025, the Magassky District Court of the Republic of Ingushetia issued a decision on the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention in respect of Magomed-Bek Uzhakhov," the press service's Telegram channel says.

The investigation believes that Uzhakhov failed to notify the relevant authorities about the theft of a mobile workstation worth 109,725 rubles by his relative working in the same bank branch.

In October 2024, the accused instructed his subordinates to prepare documents containing deliberately false information about the use of missing property, after which he approved a fictitious invoice.

It is noted that a relative of Uzhakhov stole property totaling over 4 million rubles from the moment signs of theft were revealed (from February 2023 to October 2024).

The investigators accused Uzhakhov of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("The use by an official of his official powers contrary to the interests of the service if this act was committed out of another personal interest and entailed a significant violation of the legally protected interests of the state").

Earlier, on July 30, it was reported that law enforcement agencies suspect officials of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Ingushetia of embezzling more than 10.7 million rubles allocated to compensate teachers for organizing and conducting the Unified State Exam in 2021-2022. It was noted that a criminal case had been opened against the defendants under articles on large-scale fraud and abuse of official authority.
