The death toll from typhoon Kalmaegi in the Philippines has risen to 114 people. This was reported on November 6 by the Philippine edition of GMA Integrated News, citing data from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).

According to OCD deputy spokesman Diego Mariano, 127 people have been reported missing and 82 people have been injured.

It is specified that the largest number of deaths was recorded in the settlement of Cebu, where 71 deaths were recorded. In addition, 30 people were killed in the Negros Island area, six in the province of Agusan del Sur, two in Southern Leyte, and one each in several other areas of the Philippines.

More than 150,000 people were evacuated in the Philippines on November 3 due to typhoon Kalmaegi, with authorities warning of torrential rains, winds and waves up to 3 m high. It was noted that villagers on the central island of Negros had also been warned that heavy rains could cause volcanic mudslides on the Kanlaon volcano, which has been spewing clouds of ash and steam in recent months.

The ABS-CBN News channel reported on November 5 that, according to the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction, the typhoon affected about 706,000 people, of whom about 348,000 took refuge in evacuation centers.
