Labeling "30+", "40+" or "50+" on cosmetics is a convenient marketing tool, but you should not focus on this when choosing skin care individually. As Maria Glazyrina, cosmetologist and aesthetician at the Ampermy practice Center, noted in an interview with Izvestia on November 6, the aging process of the skin is deeply individual and depends on lifestyle, nutrition, sleep quality and ability to cope with stress, and not only on the passport age.

"Focusing on age markers when choosing cosmetics is equivalent to buying shoes without taking into account size. In cosmetology practice, there are three main mistakes associated with the wrong approach to care. The first is excessive care, when an excessive amount of active ingredients is applied to the skin. The second extreme is a complete lack of care. The third mistake is the refusal of cleansing, which leads to a state of dryness and roughness of the skin due to the accumulation of sebum, dust and toxins," she said.

The expert emphasizes that the skin reacts not to age, but to the current state of the body — the level of fatigue, sleep quality, UV protection and regular cleansing. According to the cosmetologist, with an individual approach, a face wash foam labeled 50+ can normalize the skin condition of a teenager. The key parameters for choosing care are turgor, elasticity, sensitivity, sebum production, pigmentation and vascular network condition, not chronological age.

The basic algorithm of effective care always begins with three fundamental steps: gentle cleansing twice a day, restoration of barrier function through hydration and lipids, as well as daily use of sunscreens. Only after providing this foundation can the introduction of active ingredients — vitamin C, retinol, acids or peptides - be considered. However, even the most expensive remedies do not compensate for the effects of chronic lack of sleep, stress, or neglect of SPF protection.

"Quality care is not a collection of cosmetic products, but a well-thought-out strategy based on an understanding of the actual needs of the skin. When the choice of products is no longer determined by age labels and begins to be based on the actual condition of the skin, the result is stability, healthy radiance and long—term preservation of the quality of the skin," summed up Glazyrina.

On September 16, Khadizhat Suleymanova, a specialist at the Vision Ophthalmological center, reported that cold eye patches, which are often used to relieve swelling, can cause a temporary drop in vision and vascular spasms. According to the expert, aromatic additives in patches, including menthol, are also dangerous. They can cause irritation and allergies.
