Two Russian brands entered the top five of the Russian car market in October

By the end of October this year, 165.7 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 3.2% less than in the same month of 2024. Belarusian Belgee and Russian Tenet were among the top five brands. This is stated in the report of the analytical agency Autostat, which was received by Izvestia on November 6.

Lada still retains leadership in the Russian market, which accounted for just over 20% of the total volume in mid-autumn — 33.3 thousand cars sold. At the same time, a year ago (in October 2024), Lada's share exceeded 26%.

Haval was again the best among foreign brands (26.1 thousand cars sold). Geely became the third (14.2 thousand units). The mark of 10,000 cars sold was also surpassed by the Belarusian brand Belgee (10.8 thousand units), which rose to the fourth position of the brand rating.

The fifth place was taken by the newcomer to the market, the domestic Tenet (8632 units), whose sales began only in August. Chery dropped to the sixth place with an index of 6566 copies. Changan (6,369 units), Russian Solaris (5,809 units), Toyota (4,165 units) and Omoda (3,427 units) also made the top ten.

It is noted that five out of 10 brands that were among the market leaders had negative dynamics in October, with Chery having the strongest dynamics (-56.6%). Among those brands that are in the black, Solaris and Belgee stand out, the sales volumes of which have more than doubled.

In total, 1.06 million new passenger cars were sold in Russia over the past 10 months of 2025, which is 19.9% less than in January – October last year. Toyota (+25.2%), Belgee (+74.9%) and Solaris (2.3 times) are showing growth, while Omoda and Geely have "sunk" more than others during this period (by more than 40%).
