A court has arrested a woman accused of murdering her five-year-old daughter in Chelyabinsk.

The Kalininsky District Court of Chelyabinsk has detained a 43-year-old woman accused of murdering her five-year-old daughter. This was announced on November 5 by the press service of the Chelyabinsk Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"In relation to a 43-year—old woman accused of murdering her young daughter, a preventive measure has been chosen in the form of detention until January 3, 2026," the department's Telegram channel says.

Before the start of the trial, the accused, answering a question from journalists, claimed that she had not committed the murder, after which she burst into tears.

The body of a five-year-old girl was found on November 3 in the sofa of an apartment in Chelyabinsk. It was clarified that the child was found with stab wounds. A criminal case was opened on this fact. The next day, a woman suspected of murdering her five-year-old daughter was arrested.
