The defense of Irina Rudnitskaya, chairman and clinical psychologist of the Commonwealth of Families organization, filed an appeal against the court's decision to arrest her in the case of trafficking in minors. Lawyer Sergey Vakhrushev informed Izvestia about this on November 5.

The human rights defender insists on the minimal involvement of the psychologist in the alleged crime. According to Vakhrushev, she is limited only by Rudnitskaya's acquaintance with other defendants in the case.

The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow remanded Rudnitskaya in custody until November 22. The defense's request for a more lenient measure of restraint was rejected. According to the case file, the psychologist and another defendant are accused of arranging a deal for two children born in the spring of 2020. According to investigators, being the head of the foster parents' school, Rudnitskaya offered the man a deal, after which he entered information about his paternity into the birth certificates of the babies, and then took them for himself.

The day before, it was reported that Rudnitskaya pleaded guilty in the case of trafficking in minors and repented. At the same time, the person involved in the case stated that, in her opinion, the investigation insisted on choosing a preventive measure in the form of arrest without sufficient grounds. The criminal case against Rudnitskaya was initiated in August of this year. It was noted that the defendant has 12 dependent children between the ages of three and 17. Two other people suspected of the crime were also arrested in this case. It is noted that she is charged under Article 127.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Child trafficking").
