TV presenter Yuri Nikolaev was an extraordinarily charismatic man who made a significant contribution to the development of Russian television. Singer Valeria informed Izvestia about this on November 5.

She explained that Nikolaev literally opened her way to the stage. In 1992, the singer won the Morning Star music competition — Nikolaev was its creator and permanent presenter.

"A whole life, a whole epoch. Of course, he's an amazing person. Yuri Nikolaev made a huge contribution to the development of our television and left a mark on our souls forever," Valeria shared.

In turn, Soviet and Russian entertainer, comedian Vladimir Vinokur expressed his belief that Nikolaev was a legend.

"He was a very warm and good-natured man. The most important thing is super—talented. There was no program in which he would not have shown himself to be an amazingly talented presenter and actor. <...> This is a huge loss for everyone," the artist concluded.

TV presenter Dmitry Shepelev called Nikolayev's departure a personal loss.

"Uncle Yura became my guide to big TV. It's hard to imagine a better teacher. I think I'm very lucky. I am very grateful for this experience, for our closeness and friendship," he confessed.

Yuri Nikolaev died on November 4 at the age of 77. It was clarified that this was announced by ballet dancer Nikolai Tsiskaridze. The cause of the presenter's death was not specified.
