Ulan-Ude, Voronezh, Irkutsk and Yakutsk celebrated National Unity Day

Thousands of Muscovites with national and regional flags marched through Moscow's Severny Rechnoy Vokzal on National Unity Day, singing the Russian national anthem. On November 4, festive actions were simultaneously held in Ulan-Ude, Voronezh, Yakutsk and Irkutsk. Izvestia correspondents showed how National Unity Day was celebrated in the country.

The grand opening of the memorial complex "Alley of Memory" on Decembristov Square took place in Irkutsk, according to the official portal of the Irkutsk region. The ceremony was attended by Governor Igor Kobzev, participants of the special military operation (SVO) and veterans of military operations. A bronze sculpture "Grandfather, Father, Son" and steles with bas-reliefs dedicated to military conflicts were installed on the square. Landscaping of the territory cost 80.4 million rubles.

A memorial march dedicated to National Unity Day was also held in the city. Representatives of the regional and city authorities, various faiths and national cultural associations, and the public marched through the territory of the Jerusalem Mountain Historical and memorial complex. Flowers were laid near the confessional signs installed on the territory of the historical memorial complex.

In Yakutsk, the opening of the exhibition of captured equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the III Republican Anti-Fascist Forum was timed to coincide with the holiday, said the governor of the region, Aisen Nikolaev. A festive concert with dancing in national costumes was also held in the city.

In Voronezh, the K.I. Massalitinov State Academic Russian Folk Choir performed patriotic songs on Petrovskaya Embankment as part of an all-Russian campaign, the regional government announced on its Telegram channel. Residents of the city also staged a performance, unfurling the Russian flag in the center of Voronezh. Representatives of the Victory Volunteers helped to organize the action.

In Ulan-Ude, festive events included a large-scale dance (folk dance-round dance) in national costumes. According to the regional government in its Telegram channel, more than 350 people took part in the event.

People's Unity Day was also celebrated by residents of Vladivostok and Krasnoyarsk. On this day, a procession was held, during which the clergy carried the icons of the Kazan Mother of God across the square in traditional church clothes. Residents of China, Zambia and Vietnam also congratulated Russians on the holiday. In Zambia, students of the Russian language courses in Lusaka read out a poem "I found out that I have a huge family."

On the same day, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated the residents of the capital and called the centuries-old traditions of national unity the solid foundation of modern Russia. According to him, National Unity Day "affirms the values of patriotism and selfless service to the Motherland."
