- A festive service and a procession were held in the village of Nikolskoye in the DPR
A festive service and a procession dedicated to National Unity Day and the Day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God were held in the liberated village of Nikolskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), located near Ugledar. This was reported on November 4 by Izvestia correspondent Evgeny Bykovsky.
The solemn events took place at the St. Nicholas-Vasilievsky Monastery of the Holy Dormition. They were attended by local residents and young people from neighboring settlements.
According to the correspondent, during the active fighting, the front line ran literally along the outskirts of the village, and there were only a few kilometers left to Ugledar.
"The temple was in direct line of sight of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), but despite this, they purposefully shelled it. Now, with the advance of the front line to the west, it has become quiet here," he said.
Currently, divine services in the monastery have already resumed and are temporarily taking place in the lower church. The complete restoration of the complex is planned for next year.
People's Unity Day was also celebrated by residents of Vladivostok and Krasnoyarsk. On this day, a procession was held, during which the clergy carried the icons of the Kazan Mother of God across the square in traditional church clothes.
