Residents of Vladivostok and Krasnoyarsk celebrated National Unity Day

In Vladivostok and Krasnoyarsk, locals celebrate National Unity Day. Footage of the November 4 event is published by Izvestia.

The presented footage shows that residents of Vladivostok are standing on the square where a charity concert is taking place, where participants performed in national clothes of the countries of the Russian Federation, as well as entertainment events, such as classes in children's wrestling, tug of war, drawing on easels and drumming.

The event also featured an exhibition of homemade wood fakes, icons, and the sale of Russian products and souvenirs. In addition, the participants of the celebration performed the Russian national anthem on stage. At the same time, a procession was held, during which the clergy carried the icons of the Kazan Mother of God across the square in traditional church clothes. A church service and choral singing took place on the occasion of the holiday.

"Today we made a procession with you dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and headed by this holy icon, as well as dedicated to National Unity Day," the clergyman shared.

A concert on the occasion of the holiday with performances by artists and dancers was also presented in Krasnoyarsk.

"This day occupies a special place among the state holidays of modern Russia," the presenter noted during the concert.

People on the streets with the Russian tricolor took part in active initiatives and sports competitions, and also tasted street treats. During the day, there are also themed venues, educational locations, photo zones, a fair, various workshops and a performance by a folk ensemble on the square in front of the Krasnoyarsk Shopping center.

On the same day, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated the residents of the capital and called the centuries-old traditions of national unity the solid foundation of modern Russia. According to him, National Unity Day "affirms the values of patriotism and selfless service to the Motherland."

In the capital, on the Ostankino Tower, on the night of November 3 to 4, a thematic backlight was turned on in honor of National Unity Day. A video featuring the monument to Minin and Pozharsky, as well as St. Basil's Cathedral and the Moscow Kremlin against the background of the Russian flag is being broadcast on the TV tower. The lighting turned the tower bright red.
