An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 was recorded off the coast of Kamchatka in the Pacific Ocean. This was reported on November 4 in the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kamchatka Territory.

It is specified that the seismic event occurred at a distance of 168 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Its source was at a depth of 50.4 km.

"Previously, according to instrumental data, an earthquake of up to 4 magnitude was felt in various areas of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Yelizovo," the Telegram channel said in a statement.

In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that the threat of a tsunami has not been announced.

Earlier, on November 3, the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported that an earthquake of magnitude 5.6 was recorded off the coast of Kamchatka. Tremors were recorded at 06:55 Moscow time. The epicenter was located at a depth of 42.5 km, about 397 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
