Russian hockey player Klim Kostin, winner of the Gagarin Cup, signed a contract with the Omsk club Avangard. This was announced on November 3 by the team's press service on the website.

"Avangard Hockey Club has signed a contract until the end of the season with Klim Kostin, a striker and Gagarin Cup winner in Omsk," the publication says.

It is specified that 26-year-old Kostin was selected in the 2017 National Hockey League (NHL) draft at number 31 by the St. Louis club. In North America, he also played for Edmonton, Detroit and San Jose.

The player has already defended Avangard in the 2020/21 season, when the team won the Gagarin Cup.

Earlier, on November 1, it was reported that goalkeeper Ilya Samsonov was joining the Sochi Hockey Club. The contract with the goalkeeper is signed for two years. It was clarified that the transition became necessary after the injury of the main goalkeeper of the team Pavel Khomchenko — his recovery will take several weeks.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
