A fire in a store in Mexico claimed the lives of 22 people.
In the Mexican city of Hermosillo, as a result of a fire in a Waldo's store, 22 people were killed, including four minors, and 12 others were injured. This was reported on November 1 by the local Universal media.
According to the emergency services, the fire occurred after the explosion in the afternoon. The flames spread quickly through the room, and some of the visitors were trapped.
Firefighters, police officers and rescuers arrived at the scene, who managed to extinguish the flames and evacuate the injured. The authorities urged citizens to avoid the area of the incident so as not to interfere with the work of emergency services.
The Governor of the state of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo, expressed his condolences to the families of the dead and injured. He promised that the circumstances of the tragedy would be thoroughly investigated.
Earlier that day, in the Finnish municipality of Yoroinen, a van exploded on the hotel grounds, killing two people, Yle reported. The explosion damaged the facade of the building and knocked out windows, and the hotel was cordoned off.
