The lowest—paid industries in Russia remain the leather and clothing industries, as well as the HoReCa sector - hotels, restaurants and catering. The average salary in these areas ranges from 41 to 54 thousand rubles, the newspaper reported on November 1.Ru" specialists of the State University of Management (GUU).

"These types of activities are currently the lowest—paid in the country," the GUU noted.

Next in terms of income are socially significant industries — education with an average salary of about 63 thousand rubles and healthcare — 72 thousand rubles. At the same time, oil and gas production, as well as the financial sector, are at the other pole, where the average income reaches 206-218 thousand rubles per month.

GUU experts emphasize that the data indicate a growing polarization of income and a shortage of personnel in socially significant sectors. This, in their opinion, determines the priorities of government policy — raising salaries in the public sector and increasing productivity in labor-intensive industries in order to reduce the gap between income levels.

Earlier, on September 16, a FinExpertiza study showed that 20% of the least paid workers in Russia earn an average of 31 thousand rubles, while 20% of the highest-paid professionals have incomes of up to 233 thousand rubles. The gap was 7.5 times, the lowest since 2000. Experts attribute the trend to an increase in the minimum wage and an increase in salaries in low-paid segments.
