Russia is currently actively developing cooperation in the field of science with China, India and Iran. This was stated on October 31 by Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute National Research Center, in response to a question from Izvestia.

"But now we are actively developing cooperation, which was previously in Soviet times, then it somehow faded away, with the People's Republic of China, with India, with Iran," he said during a press conference.

According to Kovalchuk, the Islamic Republic has already become part of the Russian center for Megascience. He noted that the former Soviet republics, including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Belarus, also actively support cooperation with the Russian Federation.

The head of the NIC stressed that all of them joined the International Center for Megascience, which was established on the basis of the Kurchatov Institute National Research Center on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Kovalchuk added that after the suspension of cooperation with unfriendly countries, the Russian Federation "has significantly turned to the East and is turning further South."

"We have a lot of countries that are vitally interested in developing cooperation with us," he concluded.

Kovalchuk told Izvestia on June 19 that Russia continues to cooperate with Western partners, including the United States, in the space sector. The President of the Scientific and Technical Center added that the Russian Federation has a unique, the world's best technological base in the space industry, which needs to be constantly expanded and moved forward.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
