Event history: how Mary was brought into the temple

At the same time, the holiday coincides with the Christmas Fast, and in a number of parishes indulgences are allowed: the consumption of fish and wine is allowed.

Believers are encouraged to attend the Divine Liturgy and take part in prayer services in front of the icons of the Virgin. Candles are usually placed on the territory of temples, and believers have the opportunity to venerate the icon of the holiday.

It is recommended to read the troparion and kontakion of the feast, prayers to the Mother of God. Special attention is paid to spiritual concentration and pious behavior.

On the day of the Introduction, it is also customary to do good deeds: help those in need, visit the sick and support loved ones. At the same time, the meal should be moderate, with observance of lenten traditions.
