Medinsky called for the return of historical Russian names to Ukrainian cities
On October 30, Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society, supported the process of returning historical names to settlements.
"It is correct that historical, Russian names are returning to the maps. From now on, according to the norms of the Russian language, there is no Dnipro / Dnipro, but Dnepropetrovsk, no Kropyvnytskyi, but Elizavetgrad, etc. One must respect one's own history and one's own language. And don't monkey around copying the stupid decisions of the Ukrainian nationalists," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
