- The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out the necessity of developing systems similar to the Burevestnik.
The development of systems such as Burevestnik is forced. This was stated on October 30 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing.
"As for systems like the Burevestnik, <...> their development is forced and takes place in order to maintain a strategic balance. Our country has to respond to the increasingly destabilizing actions of NATO in the field of missile defense," the diplomat said.
The purpose of testing new types of weapons is to ensure Russia's readiness to defend the country's fundamental and vital interests, as well as to demonstrate its intention to give a firm rebuff in the event of a threat from any potential adversary.
"Such complex and complex exercises, including tests of advanced weapons, are planned in nature. They are being worked out fundamentally," Zakharova said.
Earlier, on October 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the successful tests of the Burevestnik with a nuclear installation. According to him, no one else in the world has such weapons.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on October 27 that ensuring security for Russia is a vital issue, especially against the background of Europe's militaristic attitude. He believes that the Europeans are in a state of internal hysteria — "Russophobic, aggressive and belligerent."
