People's squads will be formed in Karelia to help protect the border with Finland

The authorities of the Republic of Karelia are forming national squads in the border areas to assist the border services in protecting the borders with Finland. This was announced on October 30 by the head of the region Artur Parfenchikov.

"We are currently working on the process of returning conscripts from the service, actively cooperating with the border department, and organizing patronage. We are forming national squads, that is, those who help the border guards, who know the territory well and navigate the terrain," TASS quoted him as saying.
