Putin welcomes participants of the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has sent greetings to the participants of the XVIII Verona Eurasian Economic Forum, which is taking place on October 30 and 31 in Istanbul, one of the business and cultural centers of Eurasia.
In his greeting, the head of the Russian state noted that over the past years the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum has gained a well-deserved reputation. Vladimir Putin noted that regular informal meetings of politicians, entrepreneurs, scientists and experts from many countries, which take place at this venue, allow discussing pressing issues of the global economy and contribute to the development of international cooperation.
"Such joint work is important given the special role of our continent in world affairs, including in the processes of building a multipolar world order. It is in Eurasia that the main centers of economic growth, key transport and trade routes are concentrated," the Russian president stressed.
Vladimir Putin also noted that the Russian initiative of the Greater Eurasian Partnership is aimed at mutually beneficial coupling of the potentials of all the states and integration associations located here.
The topic of the current meeting — "New energy for new economic realities" — is very relevant. The Forum participants will consider the prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of energy and the digital economy, investment and scientific and technological innovation, transport and logistics.
The Head of State expressed confidence that the discussions would be meaningful and constructive, and the proposals and initiatives put forward at the Forum would be put into practice for the benefit of countries and peoples.
