The first signs of a stroke are speech disorders, facial distortion, weakness in the arm on one side. This was announced at a press conference on October 29 by Nikolai Shamalov, Chief freelance neurologist at the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Director of the Institute of Cerebrovascular Pathology and Stroke at the Federal State Budgetary Institution Federal Center for Brain and Neurotechnology of the FMBA of Russia, at the Izvestia press center.

On the same day, Anastasia Agaeva, a general practitioner at the Sberbank Health medical company, said that sudden movements of the neck can in rare cases lead to arterial dissection and subsequent ischemic stroke. According to her, the danger is not the crunch itself, which occurs due to the friction of the ligaments, but a sharp twisting or pressing effect on the cervical region.
