The Prosecutor's Office of the Trans-Baikal Territory has compiled a typical portrait of a driver driving while intoxicated. A total of 532 violators were caught in the first nine months of 2025, the press service of the department reported on Tuesday, October 28.

The majority of intruders are men (94.2%), whose age ranges from 30 to 49 years (65%). Almost all of them live in Transbaikalia (85.5%), the rest are from other Russian regions (14.1%). Foreigners and stateless persons accounted for only 0.2%.

Almost half of the offenders (45.9%) do not have a steady income, writes ChitaMedia news agency. The majority — about 70.9% — had previously committed crimes, and 70.6% were drunk at the time of their arrest.

As for the level of education, the majority of drunk drivers are those with secondary vocational education (34.5%), 30.6% graduated from 11th grade, and 28.4% have incomplete secondary education. Only 5.6% of people with higher education get drunk behind the wheel.

Earlier in October, Izvestia was told how the hidden patrol of the State Traffic Inspectorate works. This method is provided for by the Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs No. 264 dated May 2, 2023.
