Peskov: Orban defends Hungary's interests in the issue of energy resources
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, discussing the issues of obtaining energy resources, defends the interests of his country. This was announced on October 28 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"Orban, I repeat once again, as I said above, defends the interests of his country. Any country is interested in buying energy resources of the best quality and at a low price," said the press secretary of the President of Russia at a briefing.

Peskov pointed out that most of the EU member states are following the path of deliberately worsening the lives of their citizens and "going into militaristic hysteria." They are ready to take reckless steps that "will cause many problems for the European Union in the future." Orban said on October 24 that Hungary was looking for ways to circumvent the European Union's initiative to ban oil and gas imports from Russia, and "this battle is not lost yet." He stressed that if Russian energy sources are banned, energy bills for Hungarian residents will increase significantly.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on October 15, as part of the Russian Energy Week 2025 (REN), that cooperation with Russia in the field of energy supply is of strategic importance for Hungary. The minister also stated that the increase in the number of pipelines directly affects the security of energy supplies.
