SFR: social benefits and pensions are expected to increase in Russia in 2026

In 2026, social benefits, including pensions, are expected to increase for millions of Russians. According to the Social Fund of Russia, which was provided to Izvestia, the indexation of insurance pensions and fixed payments will begin on January 1, 2026 and will amount to 7.6%, which is higher than the inflation rate (6.8%).

This increase will affect 38 million pensioners, and the average size of the old-age insurance pension will increase by 2 thousand rubles, exceeding 27 thousand rubles. In addition, starting from April 1, 2026, social pensions will be increased by 6.8% due to an increase in the cost of living, which will affect 3.5 million citizens, including children with disabilities and those with disabilities since childhood. Pensions will also be recalculated for mothers with many children caring for the fifth and subsequent children, which will lead to an increase in their pensions by 2 thousand rubles.
