Bessarab announced a 7.6% increase in insurance pensions in 2026

Within the framework of the budget for 2026, it is planned to increase all pensions for pensioners, expand the system of long-term care and support mothers with many children who have already retired. Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, told Izvestia that starting from January 1, 2026, pensions for 58 million recipients of insurance pensions will be increased by 7.6%.

In addition, social pensions will increase by 6.8%, and from October 1, 2026, military pensions will be increased by 4%. The budget also provides for an increase in all social benefits and guarantees for 40 types of interstate support, including pension supplements.

Bessarab clarified that the living wage for pensioners will be 16.2 thousand rubles, and no pensioner in Russia will receive less than this amount. If the cost of living in the regions is higher, local budgets will pay the difference.

Also in 2026, pensions will be recalculated for mothers with many children who have already retired, adding about 2 thousand rubles to their monthly payments.
