On October 27, the Russian Embassy in Vilnius advised citizens to refrain from traveling to Lithuania by car through Belarus.

"In this regard, until the situation is clarified, the embassy recommends that Russian citizens refrain from traveling to and from Lithuania by road through the territory of Belarus," the diplomatic mission wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is noted that this is due to the decision of the Lithuanian authorities to close two checkpoints for an indefinite period.

The day before, it was reported that Lithuania had already closed checkpoints on the border with Belarus for the third time. It was noted that the Lithuanian authorities were closing the checkpoint without notifying the Belarusian side about it. They noted that this creates hopeless situations for drivers of passenger cars.

The State Customs Committee of Belarus called these actions unfriendly and added that they were monitoring the situation at the border.
