Nagiyev and Medvedeva will play a couple in love in the New Year's comedy "Christmas Trees 12"

Bazelevs film company, together with the distributor NMG Kinoprokat (part of the National Media Group holding) and Toomuch Production film company, shared new footage from the filming of the cult film franchise "Christmas Trees 12". The film will be widely released on December 18, 2025. One of the main plot discoveries of the new part will be a romantic line with Dmitry Nagiyev. The actor will return to the role of Uncle Yura, and his character will be at the center of a love story. Irina Medvedeva will play the role of an on-screen sweetheart.

Creative producers and screenwriters are Zhora Kryzhovnikov ("Fisher", "The Boy's Word. Blood on the asphalt", "Ice") and Peter Vnukov, who was responsible for the creation of the previous part of the franchise — "Christmas Trees 11". The producers were Timur Asadov, Lala Rustamova, Ara Khachatryan, Maria Zatulovskaya and Dmitry Pachulia.

"The most important thing for me is to make Uncle Yura look like Uncle Yura, not Dima Nagiyev. I'm not trying to tickle the viewer, I'm trying to make the character voluminous: touching, disappointed, funny and in love. Therefore, I hope that I have "hit" Uncle Yura again," Dmitry Nagiyev said.

"I think the secret of this franchise is that people trust it. When I picked up the script, I knew it would be a kind and touching story, because "Christmas Trees" is always about childhood, humor and a festive atmosphere," said Irina Medvedeva.

The upcoming installment of the franchise, "Christmas Trees 12," will tell about the fates of people intertwined in one big story. According to the story, on New Year's Eve, nine-year-old Vanya from Kirov, having learned about the separation of his parents, goes to Veliky Ustyug to ask Santa Claus for a miracle. His journey will be full of unexpected encounters, dangers and trials. Parents rush to find their son, but will they be able to fix everything before the clock strikes twelve?
