With a low-calorie diet, when the intake rate is reduced by 20%, there are consequences such as increased stress levels, decreased immunity, and skin deterioration. Nutritionist Mila Maslennikova told about this on October 27.

"Reducing calories by more than 20% of the norm or below the baseline level will increase stress, anxiety, and disrupt the balance of nutrient intake, which will cause deficiencies in essential vitamins and trace elements. This leads to a decrease in immunity, cognitive abilities, energy levels, and will affect the condition of the skin," the expert told RIA Novosti.

Maslennikova noted that when losing weight, it is recommended to reduce the amount of calories consumed by 4-20% of the consumption rate, which can be calculated using the Mifflin—Sant Geor formula.

On October 25, Medical Xxpress magazine published a study on how to lose weight. The main rule of weight loss seems simple: if you spend more calories than you consume, your body weight decreases. But, as research shows, in practice everything is much more complicated.
