The police are conducting an investigation into a family from Cheboksary who posted a video on social media with a "tattoo" on a baby. This was announced on October 24 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk.

"Employees of the juvenile affairs unit plan to check the housing and living conditions of the family and put it on the preventive register," she wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to the Interior Ministry, the idea of the video belonged to the child's mother, who wanted to "become famous" and participated in the challenge. The parents continue to insist that they did not harm the child.

The video caused a wide public outcry, after which the couple published a rebuttal. The inspection materials will be sent to the investigative authorities for making a procedural decision.
