The launch of a camera-based CTP verification system will improve traffic control, increase financial discipline among drivers, and shorten document verification time. Maxim Kolyadov, Head of work with individuals at Insurance Broker AMsec24, shared this belief with Izvestia on October 24.

"This will help reduce the number of cars that drive without valid insurance policies, and thereby increase the security of all road users. In addition, such a system can simplify the process of detecting violations and reduce the time for checking documents, which, in turn, will free up the resources of law enforcement agencies," Kolyadov said.

He noted that for the successful operation of the system, it is necessary to ensure the technical availability of cameras and data processing software. It is also important to establish communication between different departments in order to create a single registry of policies.

"It is necessary to complete the development and testing of the software, integrate it with existing systems, and conduct employee training. In addition, it will be necessary to conduct an information campaign for drivers so that they are aware of the new procedure," the expert added.

The amount of the fine for not having a CTP policy may vary. According to current legislation, it ranges from 800 to 5,000 rubles, depending on the circumstances. In case of repeated violations, fines may increase, but the specific amounts will be determined at the local government level or in accordance with changes in legislation.

The cadres will decide: the distribution of fines from cameras for driving without CTP can begin before the end of the year.
