Consul Ilyin announced the deportation of about 100 Russian citizens from Thailand since the beginning of the year.

Since the beginning of 2025, about 100 Russian citizens have been deported from Thailand for various violations of local law. This was announced on October 24 by Ilya Ilyin, head of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in the kingdom.

"From January 1 to October 1, 2025, at least 100 Russians were deported from Thailand. This is quite an alarming indicator, since 65 people were deported in the whole of 2024," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to him, this year there has been an increase in the number of incidents when Russian citizens were also denied entry to the country, which may indicate a tendency to tighten control over compliance with immigration rules.

Ilya Ilyin noted that over the past two or three months in Thailand, where Russian citizens can stay without a visa for 60 days, there has been an increase in the number of minor offenses related to non-compliance with immigration and labor laws.

In addition, the number of administrative offenses and minor crimes has also increased in this State. But there were practically no serious criminal offenses committed by Russians during this period.

The consul clarified that a significant number of such cases are due to the fact that the immigration authorities do not allow Russian citizens to enter the country, believing that they live in Thailand.

On October 22, Thai police announced the deportation of Russian woman Erica Vladyko, who left her four-year-old daughter unattended in a hotel on September 18, went to a club and disappeared. She was found eight days after her disappearance in one of the hostels, and according to a statement from law enforcement agencies, she will be deported to her homeland.
