The world's first rapid test for the diagnosis of viral hepatitis B based on Loop mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) was registered by scientists of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor. The press service of the ministry reported this on Thursday, October 23.

"The new test is comparable to the PCR method in sensitivity, but it allows you to determine the presence of the virus in just 25-30 minutes, which significantly speeds up the diagnostic process compared to traditional methods," the Moscow City News agency quoted the message.

Rospotrebnadzor noted that the test helps to quickly and accurately diagnose hepatitis B. This is of key importance for the prompt identification of patients, the appointment of effective therapy and the adoption of anti-epidemic measures, writes "Moscow 24".

The test was developed within the framework of the federal project "Sanitary Shield of the country — safety for health (prevention, detection, response)".

Marina Kondratenko, a general practitioner and cardiologist at the IMMA clinic network, said on August 30 that some infections remain a challenge. Hepatitis B, for example, is manageable due to the availability of an effective vaccine. In the case of hepatitis C, despite the lack of a vaccine, significant progress has been made in treatment to achieve a complete cure for many of its forms.

In turn, Natalia Turskaya, an infectious disease specialist at Krasnogorsk Hospital, noted that viral hepatitis A and E are often called "dirty hands disease" — this is how they are most often transmitted. 360.ru .

These forms of hepatitis do not become chronic, like B and C, but they can cause serious complications, especially in pregnant women and people with weak immune systems.
