AvtoVAZ has announced the recall of more than 8,000 Lada XRAY vehicles, according to the manufacturer's message received by Izvestia on October 22. We are talking about machines produced in 2021-2022, the company notes.

"As part of the program, even those cars that have already been discontinued are subject to retrofitting with ERA-GLONASS units. At the current stage, it is planned to retro—install units for 8,209 Lada XRAY family cars produced in 2021-2022, the company said in a statement.

AvtoVAZ emphasizes that all work is carried out for the owners for free. Owners of cars covered by the program will receive invitations from authorized dealerships. You can also check your car yourself by entering the VIN code on the official website of Rosstandart, the company notes.

The temporary release of vehicles without the Era-GLONASS system was authorized by regulatory documents and regulations due to the difficulties in supplying components to the supplier that arose in 2021. Such vehicles must be retrofitted with a device or emergency call system by December 31, 2027, Rosstandart reminds.
