Canada cancelled the contract for the supply of 25 refurbished LAV armored personnel carriers to Ukraine. This was reported on October 22 by the CBC television channel with reference to the Minister of Defense David McGinty.

According to the publication, in 2023, Canada transferred 25 LAV armored personnel carriers to Armatec Survivability for restoration with a view to further dispatch to Ukraine.

"Currently, a decision has been made to terminate the contract with this company," the minister said.

McGinty added that he could not disclose the details of the cancellation of the deal due to "obligations to preserve trade secrets."

On September 13, the German Ministry of Finance reduced the requested funding for assistance to Ukraine by €10.6 billion. According to the Bild newspaper, contracts with the Ukrainian defense industry should now be suspended, while measures to support the country's armed forces will be partially reduced or canceled.
